From the supplier: Maroon-bellied Conures (Pyrrhura frontalis) is a genus of parrot that includes galls, or insect pests, in their diet, aside from fruits and seeds. The Consures assumed the normal eating position, with galls held with one foot and opened by the bill. They ate the galls from the trees, along with some pieces of leaves. Only mature galls were chosen, while the galls with the young larvae were not eaten. The behavior is attributed to the proximity and timing of the food resource.
