From the author: The Executive Development Roundtable is a consortium of thirty-five corporations that come together to sponsor applied research, share insights, and help each other with their critical responsibilities of developing executive talent to perform now and meet the challenges of the future. As part of a study that analyzes global trends, the current study, World Class Executive Development, was completed. Based on that research, the aim of this article is to develop a framework for understanding how to design and focus executive development efforts. And then how to manage development activities so that results linked to the business strategy are produced.
