From the supplier: The genealogies of Galahad and Lancelot by a hermit interpreting the latter's dream parallels the biblical recitations of patrilineal descent. This situates Galahad, ninth of his line, at the end of a world age, fixing the world of knightly 'aventure' in the past, when marvels were commonplace. It also permits a lengthy account of the virtues of Launcelot's ancestors, against which his own moral failings loom the larger.
