From the supplier: An analysis of the nitrogen management practices of corn farmers in Nebraska was conducted to find out why many of them use more than the recommended application of the fertilizer. It was found that recommended nitrogen level in itself was the main factor underlying these farmers' nitrogen management practices. Majority of them do not follow excessively low recommended levels, while the trend toward excessive application declines as the recommended level rises. Findings indicate that new application procedures and technology are needed to achieve better nitrogen management.
