From the supplier: Steel frame buildings suffered significant damage during the Northridge, CA and Kobe, Japan earthquakes. These structures had previously been perceived as earthquake resistant. Los Angeles, CA adopted an ordinance in Mar 1995 that requires buildings to be inspected with ultrasonics and repaired by 1998. Inspections cost between $1,000 and $2,000 and repairs have cost between $7,000 and $50,000.
