However, evidence that Harry Truman's decision was wrong has been surfacing from prominent military and civilian personalities since the 1940s up to the mid 1960s. However, the national newspapers and television networks failed to pick up such first-person accounts and new scholarly evidence even as they produced extensive documentaries on the Pacific War.
