From the supplier: Long John Silver's Restaurants Inc. started a five-step plan to prevent employee theft in the early 1990s. The plan involved analyzing the trend of internal losses in the company's restaurants and the setting up of overt closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems to prevent, detect and document employee theft. Moreover, covert CCTV systems were also installed and the accounting process was simplified with a tracking system that allows easier investigation of questionable transactions. Loss prevention personnel were also provided with laptop computers for easy retrieval of information from the company's main computer system.
