From the supplier: Parking lots are often the scene of violent crimes. According to Justice Dept. statistics, around 757,000 reported cases of rape, robbery, assault and other violent crimes occurred in parking lots and garages in the US in 1994. To ensure that parking facilities are safe, security professionals should conduct a security audit. This audit entails an examination of the neighborhood in which the parking facility is located, as well as the basic security measures adopted by the parking area. Special attention should be given to such basic issues as lighting, signs, power sources, attendant facilities, rest rooms, and equipment.
