From the supplier: Tastemaker, Setec Inc. and Marc Sims SFE have developed a new fluid- extraction process that, by using porous membranes and compressed carbon dioxide, requires lesser space and money. The porocritical-fluid-extraction process, whose trademarked name is Porocrit, needs no density or pressure difference as it stabilizes the interface between the solvent and the feed. Porocrit also has a modular design that cleans without dismantling. The three firms are currently working on a patent for Porocrit, setting up a demonstration-pilot plant and moving toward its commercial application.
