From the supplier: Arab culture is not incompatible with the demands of civil society since it has grown accustomed, if not dependent on Western support. The post-cold war climate and the trend toward globalism will propel the Arab states to liberalize their economies and slowly inch their way into something that conforms to the Western concept of civil society. How this conformity to international standards and dependence or international support will impact Arab economy and politics remains to be seen.
