From the supplier: China's economic reform and policy of opening to the outside world rendered its fisheries to increase in production. A 28,132,900 ton output was recorded for 1996 which marked its seventh-year leadership in world-wide catch and farmed output. Its processed fish and seafood production also increased by 3.9% to 4.3 million tons, where 62.3% (2.7 million) of which was frozen.
