From the supplier: Performance indicators for technical services in academic libraries have received less attention than have such indicators for areas of reference and user services. University managements want more efficient use of scarce resources, which leads to new management methods being found for all library areas. In the technical services area international standards have been developed and there are projects in Australia to work on that area. Current projects in Victoria show some of the problems involved with computerized in-house systems, with forms to fill out, with staff procedures, and with questionnaires and interviews.
