From the supplier: A survey of 57 initial public offerings in the medical diagnostics and device industry showed that price premiums were substantially influenced by such factors as the firm's leverage, management's share of equity and the number of uses of proceeds. These factors affect the degree of confidence of investors on the entrepreneurial firm. On the other hand, the reputation of the underwriter did not turn out to be a significant factor on the price premium rates.
