From the supplier: Twelve educators from a variety of curriculum areas were selected to be part of a team of faculty in the University of Northern Colorado's Educational Technology Improvement Project, which received funding from the Colorado Commission on Higher Education. The introductory statistics course Dr. Lawrence M. Lesser, assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics was selected to redesign the introductory statistics course serving both as a general education requirement and as as course required in particular by various majors at the university. The course had as its main technology components a course Web site and weekly class meeting in a lab room with 30 IBM 486 PCs, two laser printers, and a portable MAC demonstration workstation cart, and marker boards. Also, the textbook came with a disk containing datasets for all exercises. This technology allows students to easily access and explore datasets that were more realistic as far as their size and 'messiness.'
