From the supplier: Defense contractor Loral Infrared and Imaging Systems launched a health and safety program as part of security management. The security manager took the responsibility of reviewing the company's security functions prior to the development of the program. The safety and medical units were integrated into the security group to cut costs and streamline operations. Improvements were introduced to Loral's emergency management plan including the adoption of walkie-talkie systems for employees. The initiative resulted in a decline in workplace accidents and lost days of work at Loral.
