From the supplier: Food equipment manufacturers are responding to the computerization of food processing plants by coming out with motors and bearings that perform control and maintenance functions using microprocessors. An example is Baldo Electric Co.'s SmartMotor line which combines induction motors with inverter units. Torrington Co., on the other hand, has come up with its line of high-performance ball bearing polymer housed units marketed under the Fafnir Survivor PT name. Another example is Reliance Electric Co.'s line of IQ Intelligent Motors.
