From the supplier: Business organizations of all sizes are compelled to expand internationally. Although globalization is often associated with large companies, small and medium-sized firms are now able to enter foreign markets because of telecommunication technologies, strategic alliances and shortened product lifecycles. These companies are drawn to overseas markets because of the potential of high growth rates and early-entry opportunities. However, business globalization presents numerous challenges, including greater investments in technology, complicated tax and currency issues, and heavier demand on the time of top executives. A roundtable discussion participated in by business leaders, sponsored by Chief Executive magazine, discusses such problems as well as potential solutions.
