Key to being sensitive to such changes is the ability of an organization to loosen its vertical, horizontal, geographic and external boundary constraints. Loosening of boundary constraints initially involves determination of each boundary's permeability. In the case of vertical boundary, rigidity exists when the company is slow in responding to customer requests.
