From the supplier: Benbasat and Zmud confined themselves within the realm of positivism when they analyzed the lack of relevance in management information systems (MIS) research. Markus and Davenport were correct in claiming both have not gone far enough in their analysis. Positivism argues that social science research should imitate research in the natural sciences. On the other hand, Marcus and Davenport believe that MIS research should be similar to research in law and medicine.
