PRC Network Equipment 2005-2009 Forecast and Analysis: Router and LAN Switch Market 2004 Updates

This IDC study qualifies the total routing and LAN switching market in the People's Republic of China (PRC) with market sizing provided for 2004. Forecast data is provided for 2005 to 2009.

"Both the router and LAN switch market witnessed good growth in 2004, with a double-digit increase, owing to a series of telco projects as well as active investment from enterprise sectors, such as education and government. The overall router and LAN switch market will show a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.5% and 11.2%, respectively, through the forecast period. Some movement toward higher speeds and new technologies will help the sector but increased competition and saturation in many market segments will be two very difficult factors to overcome," says Milly Xiang, senior analyst, Telecom Research, IDC China.
