Description

This IDC study reviews the systems integration (SI) services market in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ in 2004. In addition, this study assesses and forecasts the market opportunity for the SI markets in APEJ given IDC's predictions and assumptions of factors that impact the IT services market in the region. IT spending sentiment has finally revived to positive mark. An end-user survey has shown clear signs that enterprises are increasing the overall IT expenditure.

As SI services are a key part of IT expenditure, it has benefited from the recovery. The systems integration market in APEJ was US$6,142.2 million in 2004 and is forecast to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.1% over the five-year period, 2004–2009, bringing the APEJ SI market to US$10.4 billion by end of 2009. "Security- and storage-related SI projects are in demand. Enterprises realize the importance of implementing a secured information life cycle solutions in face of demanding law and regulation," comments Kit Yau, senior research manager, IT Services, IDC Asia/Pacific.
