Confessions of a Mask

This is a story of a boy's development toward homosexuality. As he progresses from a childhood spent largely in his grandmother's sickroom, through adolescence at a boys' school and at summer resorts, to young manhood during the war, an ill-starred love affair, we realize that this is an account of a young man's loneliness and despair.
