Optical Alignment Reference Manual

The "Optical Alignment Reference manual" outlines the basic optical alignment instruments used at the Airplane Division of The Boeing Company. The purpose of this manual is to provide jig fabricators with a pocket size optical alignment reference manual containing currently use optical alignment instruments accessories and techniques. The correct use and application of these precision instruments are of prime concern. This manual clearly introduces certain instruments and describes how their optical principles are utilized. Each instrument is described separately; its function, application, and set-up procedure. It shows the most common methods of establishing points, lines and planes. This manual will serve as an aid for class instruction and as a hand-out for on-the-job reference requirements only.
