IPv6: Status in the Asia/Pacific Region
Book Details
Description
This IDC study aims to provide an understanding of the current status of IPv6 implementation in key markets in the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ region. Key service providers (SPs) in the region were interviewed regarding trials and future implementation of IPv6 networks, and this study reflects a synthesized view of their opinions on the drivers and inhibitors of IPv6 in the APEJ region. In addition, the level of government activity concerning formulating policies and plans regarding IPv6 is discussed in this study.
"The APEJ region is at the forefront of trialing and deploying IPv6 networks in the world," says Tim Crowley, research manager, Telecommunications, IDC Asia/Pacific. "This drive is being led by both SPs looking to position their networks for future service deployments, as well as by governments, which see IPv6 development as a key driver for future economic activity."
