Topics include Textiles (v. 1-2), Ceramics (v. 3), Lacquerware (v. 4), Wood and Bamboo (v. 5), Metal and Stone (v. 6), Paper and Dolls (v. 7), and Writing Utensils and Household Buddhist Altars (v. 8). Each volume has between 150-200 pages, lavishly illustrated with hundreds of photographs, primarily in color. Black and white photographs illustrate the processes used in these crafts. Each book is bound in orange cloth, with a dark yellow cloth slipcase. VHS tapes are bound two to a volume in orange cloth; each tape is a companion piece to one volume of the set.
