We studied the sociofamilial characteristics, the circumstances of the accident of burn and the coverage assured on the somatic level. On the psychological level, we raised the psychic repercussions of the serious burns. Results. - The symptomatology developed during the hospitalisation of these burned children was dominated by the behavioural disturbances (50% of the cases) as well as the sleep disturbances (50% of the cases). On the nosographic level, we noted a prevalence of the reactional disorders (41,6% of the cases including post-traumatic stress syndrome in 12,5% of the cases) and anxious dominant-neurotic disorders (20,8% of the cases). The depressive disorders were noted in 20,8% of the cases. Conclusion. - Our study raises the interest of the psychological coverage given by the child psychiatric connection unit to the children hospitalised for burn, and this at the same time curative and preventive purpose of the psychological difficulties occurring after serious burns on the child.
