Online Commerce in France

In 2000, Minitel commerce revenues were still higher than Internet commerce revenues in France. In 2006, however, Internet commerce revenue will reach €8.9 billion, more than 26 times Minitel commerce revenues, which will decline to € 345 million. The future of electronic commerce in France relies on the Internet, not the Minitel, and French Internet merchants must use their off-line assets to strengthen their Internet presence.
