Paintings from the Akbar Nama: A Visual Chronicle of Mughal India

This book focuses attention on the collaboration of artists in the Mughal atelier, a large number of them being Hindus. From the dynamic fusion and the bold, imperial patronage, a new sensibility is born of color and form. In the final chapter the author studies forty paintings: to observe the developments of individual masters and to examine these paintings as living documents of an era. Paintings are now in the Voctoria and Albert Museum in London.
