Through a collection of essays and projects, City Specualtions?investigates different modes of representing urban space. Responding to?Robert Moses's Panorama of the City of New York, housed at the?Queens Museum of Art, an impressive collection of artists, architects, and?theorists attempt to infuse the dynamism of the living city into urban?representation and demonstrate how the process of representation can?effect the final outcome of urban design. Essays by Patricia Philips and?M. Christine Boyer specifically address how and why Moses, New York's?"Power Broker," employed the Panorama as a tool and demonstration?of his own global vision.?
