Use these for early reading work in native speakers or as second language work for the native English speaker. These cards feature common objects that the children encounter in their daily lives. The Spanish 3-part Card Set includes packets for Around the House, In the Kitchen, Around Town, Tools, Transportation, and Utensils (6 packets; 12 images and 36 cards per packet; 72 images and 216 cards in the set). Because the objects are relevant to the children, they are interested in them and then able to internalize the Spanish vocabulary with ease. Unlike with English, the Spanish cards include the article (eg, el) before the noun to clarify the noun's gender. Begin by using the photo-only cards in a three-period lesson to present the new vocabulary. Once children can read, introduce the word labels so children can match the word to the corresponding photo. They use the control cards to check their own work.
