Electronic Gaming Monthly (often abbreviated to EGM) was a monthly American video game magazine.[1][2][3] It has been published by EGM Media, LLC. since relaunching in April 2010. Its previous run, which ended in January 2009, was published by Ziff Davis. It offers video game news, coverage of industry events, interviews with gaming figureheads, editorial content, and product reviews. Prior to the 2010 relaunch it only covered console hardware and software but has since widened its coverage to the PC and mobile gaming markets.[4][5] The publication was originally founded as U.S. National Video Game Team's Electronic Gaming Monthly in 1988 under Sendai Publications.[6] In 1994, EGM spun off EGM², which focused on expanded cheats and tricks (i.e., with maps and guides). It eventually became Expert Gamer and finally the defunct GameNOW.
