Kirkland Cameron Craig was professor of Celtic Studies at Edinburgh University. During the 1930's he traveled the Western Highlands of Scotland gathering tales from old story tellers and then having them printed and published at his own expense. Kirkland Cameron Craig was killed in 1963 in the earthquake in Skoppe. He had been tracing the roots of the Celtic language from the Western Isles of Scotland down through Ireland, Wales, Cornwall and then over onto the continent.
