Description
Mokelumne Hill, CA:Health Research, 1963. True first edition. Illustrated from photographs and drawings. Quarto, Illustrated yellow stapled wraps (there were apparently three production cover colors - white, yellow and orange wraps, though it is possible the orange wraps issue was in some form an advance review copy; there were also differing numbers of ad pages at the end. See listings #1314, #1317 and #1324). 105 pp + 16 pp books ads from Health Research, those books being largely on paranormal and/or controversial topics. Very Good or better; some soiling to covers, and four ball pen brackets on interior pages - otherwise very sharp, and still very stout, especially for an inexpensively-produced, staple bound wraps volume. This is the true first appearance of NYU professor Raymond Bernard's originally almost wildly popular conjecture - that being that the earth is hollow, with openings at both poles; and, moreover, in hollow areas 900 miles down, a race of gentle superhumans live - and it is they who pilot the UFOs, craft which people in the 1950s and 1960s were still struggling to explain, those phenomena having not yet, at that time, been distilled to the handful of explanations now favored, across the spectrum, by believers, skeptics, and everyone in between. Not just a conjecture in his own eyes, his hypothesis is now regaining momentum with the increasing reporting of USO events. Very scarce in this softcover original version. L-g2
