Anna and the King of Siam

The story of Anna Leonowens, an English woman engaged by the King of Siam to educate his many children and the favorites among his harem. Anna befriended and saved some of these woman from a life of slavery. Some she could not save. The story grew out of extensive research and personal experience. Both Margaret Landon, the author, and Margaret Ayer, the illustrator lived in Siam.
