Barbara

"Female, female, female!" It is an exclamatory sentence this author has often used. It can be used now in delineating the character of this book. It is a story of girls. Such males as enter it get their just desserts. In Victorian disbelief, the girl, Barbara, is placed within a premises designed for the punishment and training of naughty girls. Everything done to her is outrageous in its flouting of Victorian mores and Victorian bottoms. Whether the good Queen would have been shocked by Barbara's nakedness, her whip marks, the weals of rope upon her maiden skin, we will never know. But Barbara herself was shocked beyond imagining. We follow her progress to submission as she blushes, strips, holds out her hand to be caned, and bares her bottom for the crop. We watch her flutter against the bars of lost freedom, and as she kicks rebelliously at the chains upon her feet. For Barbara, a Victorian whip is as painful as any other. But Barbara is not a child! Barbara is twenty years old. She is thrice shamed by being placed within the disciplines of an establishment designed for the young. Along with the striped skin, she must accept the titters of children and the smirks of maids. But there is the nubile Perdita Amory to take her along the scented path of feminine love and to bring her to the ecstasies of a girlish derriere whipped tenderly in erotic adoration.
