Best Sellers From Readers Digest Condensed Books (Advise and Consent)(Act One: An Autobiography)(Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Paris)(Dear and Glorious Physician)
During the 1950s and 1960s, the Reader's Digest would compile anthologies of BEST SELLERS selected from their popular quarterly CONDENSED BOOKS series. They chose quite well when they assembled this volume from 1960: ADVISE AND CONSENT, ACT ONE, MRS. 'ARRIS GOES TO PARIS and DEAR AND GLORIOUS PHYSICIAN. ADVISE AND CONSENT from 1959 was Washington, D.C. political novelist Alan Drury's breakthrough and a huge bestseller.
