Full Title: A Course In Miracles: The Lives Of Helen Schucman & William Thetford "This is the story of how two unlikely persons, both Ph.D. research psychologists at Colombia University, produced a channeled spiritual teaching which was unlike any of the professional psychological work upon which they built their academic careers. Neither of them felt completely comfortable with their role, and neither fully understood how it was that they became engaged in this unlikely endeavor." From the Preface. Neal Vahle has vast experience writing biographies of noted spiritual founders. He is also the author of Open At The Top: The Life of Ernest Holmes; Torch-Bearer to Light the Way: The Life of Myrtle Fillmore; and The Spiritual Journey of Charles Fillmore. He served as editor of New Realities and Unity Magazine and holds a doctorate in American History from Georgetown University. He brings all of this experience to this excellent and thorough biography of Helen Schucman and William Thetford. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Neal Vahle's biography of Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford, which describes their collaboration in producing A Course in Miracles. Though I knew Helen and Bill, and much of the story, this book fills in many of the missing pieces. - Rev. Jon Mundy Ph.D., The Institute for Personal Religion Although I have heard stories about Helen and Bill, this book reveals them to be both complex and inspiring. The author presents a fascinating story of their acceptance of this extraordinary teaching, and the effect the Course had on their lives. The last pages of this book are an inspiration to us all. - Linda Carpenter, student and teacher of A Course in Miracles.
