Mother Mary Angelica is the cloistered nun who founded the world-wide Eternal Word Television Network, starting with $200, in a garage at her convent in Alabama. Before she became a television personality, she wrote a number of little books, like this one, to share the Catholic faith. Excerpts from Inside the Kingdom:People have argued for centuries about Heaven. Some say it is a place and others say it is a state, but Scripture indicates it is both. It tells us in many places the Kingdom of Heaven is "within" and "among" us. Jesus tells us, "No one has gone up to Heaven except the One who came down from Heaven,-the Son of Man who is in Heaven" (John 3:13).Here we have a clear indication that Heaven is both a place and a state of soul. Jesus came down from Heaven, and because of His union with the Father, He was in Heaven.So it is with us. When we keep His Word, He makes His home in us, and that is a Heaven on earth-the Kingdom within us (John 14:23).
