The computer pictured on the cover is the famous TRS-80. The author, Forrest Mims helped write the user manual for the Altair 8800, one of the very first "hobby computers. This book is a very well written overview of the field at the time it was published. It contains flow charts and circuit diagrams. It is a wealth of information about early computer design techniques upon which later computers are based. Easy to read with "Checkpoint" review boxes followed with the answers to the review questions in the boxes just below each box. Included is information on using the PIP-1 computer.
