Description
A very interesting book, written in 1913 by C.F.Wimberly, an author that is known mainly for his biographical sketches of Henry Clay Morrison (1857-1942) a great pulpit orator in America. The chapters are short, informative and to the point. A very interesting read. 172 pages.
Excerpt:
We should keep in mind the distinction between "the Devil" and demons; there is but one Devil, but the demons are swarming the length and breadth of the whole earth. Just as God directs His angels in ministries of righteousness, so this god of darkness directs his angels to do his nefarious will. There are feats so daring and important that the Devil, it seems, will not trust to his underlings. He engineered in person the temptations of the Master; he entered the heart of Judas, and caused him to sell his Lord, then commit suicide.
Chapters include:
THE PROBLEM WITH EVIL--THE ORIGIN OF EVIL--LUCIFER--DEVIL-SATAN-SERPENT-DRAGON--DIABOLUS-DEMONIA-ABADDON-APOLLYON--THE DEVIL, A BLOCKADE--THE GREAT MAGICIAN--THE ROARING LION--AN ANGEL OF LIGHT--THE SOWER OF TARES--THE ARCH SLANDERER--THE DOUBLE ACCUSER--SATAN A SPY--THE QUACK DOCTOR--THE DEVIL, A THEOLOGIAN--THE DEVIL'S RIGHTEOUSNESS--THE WORLD TEMPTER--THE CONFIDENCE MAN--THE TRAPPER--THE INCOMPARABLE ARCHER--THE FATHER OF LIARS--THE KINGSHIP OF SATAN--THE DEVIL'S HANDMAIDEN--THE ASTUTE AUTHOR--THE HYPNOTIST--DEVIL POSSESSION--DEVIL OPPRESSION--DEVIL ABDUCTION--THE RATIONALE OF SUICIDE--DEVIL WORSHIP--VICTORY THROUGH THE VICTOR--THE ARREST AND IMPRISONMENT--THE FINAL CONSUMMATION--SATANIC SYMBOL IN NATURE
