Assured by his roommate the Bronser condo would be vacant, Dr. Kurt Shears takes off for a much needed vacation of fishing and sleeping. On the way his VW bug is totaled by a drunk woman driving a Lincoln Continental. Finding her unconscious and blood spurting from her ankle, he takes her to a clinic where she is treated and released. Since she has no identification, he doesn’t know who she is, so he takes her to the condo to stay until she wakes up and can get someone to come for her.
After two years of celibacy. Cindy Bronser-Webbster is celebrating a final divorce decree at a party but angrily leaves because some man tries to put the moves on her. After she gets in the car, she obviously blacks out and wakes up in the family condo with a fantastic hunk hovering over her who probably broke into the place. He eventually claims he only borrowed the condo, tells her some wild tale about how she demolished his car and then refuses to let her go because of her injury.
Kurt is turned on by CJ but rejects his feelings because he has no desire to climb the social ladder and become a rich doctor, and most of the women he’s met are looking for a doctor with those goals. From her behavior, he thinks CJ is just like that. On the other hand, CJ has lived in society and had money, so she thinks Kurt is probably just like her ex who took every penny she had and left her flat broke. Fearing he will try and get money from her father, she does not tell him who she really is.
Just when CJ is learning to enjoy and appreciate Kurt’s important principles, their time together comes to a crashing halt. CJ knows this must be the end of their affair because of Kurt’s crazy principles about honesty, and she has lied to him – something she knows he will never forgive. It means going their separate ways – or is there a chance for them and happiness?
