Scars covering an otherwise perfect body, the Gorotsuki enters a new tribe on uncertain terms. She has saved the life of one of their hunters but she soon realizes it was not a life worth saving. She becomes a member of the tribe and helps lead it to riches and wealth, only to realize that she has no hope of a future if she stays with these people. She cannot reconcile her desires with what she is and what others want from her. Not here, not among men who covet her flesh and hate her for her superior fighting abilities. To be Gorotsuki means she must depend on no one.
