The S'rimad Devî Bhâgavatam is an Upapurana (post-Vedic text), Holy Book, devoted to the Goddess. The Puranas and Upapuranas typically contain a complete narrative of the history of the Universe from creation to destruction, heroes and demigods, and descriptions of Hindu cosmology and geography.
This is Book 1 of a series of 12 Books, devoted to the Goddess.
