New Myths and Legends of Edinburgh is a collection of tales never before revealed: from the Mysterious Lollipop Man enticing innocent cyclists to their peril, to the enterprising Michael Garrett and his 'home from homes'. There is the Man Who Waited, and the sinister story of the strange rock nestling near the river in Craiglockhart Dell.

Conversations enjoyed and overheard in the cafés, pubs and bars of Edinburgh are invaluable sources; a special mention must go to Cloisters, a favourite pub where I have enjoyed a pint or two over the years.
