The Pecking Order

In The Pecking Order, Abby Taylor is a stretch-mark-covered, billable-hour-crazed BlackBerry junkie trying to hold her family together and make partner at a premier law firm-a law firm riddled with “over-worked, over-caffeinated, over-ambitious, over-everything attorneys,” including: the Blowhard, a tired lawyer cliché; Babies Don't Spit Up, the perfectly primped, Teflon-coated female partner; the Pecker, Abby's sadistic boss; and the Golden Boy, the Pecker's boy toy prodigy. The Pecker blocks Abby's path to partnership at every turn, as he lies, cheats and steals in order to ensure Abby's failure and the Golden Boy's success. As Abby perseveres, spending more and more time at work, her marriage to environmental activist Adam becomes increasingly precarious as he spends more and more time with a beautiful, young law student, Sasha. Will Abby's pursuit of partnership come at the cost of her marriage? Can Abby-or any working woman-really have it all?
