Description
This is a short collection of essays I wrote while exploring one of Plato's more difficult works as I was finishing my degree in Philosophy.
These essays do not cover the entire Timaeus, which would take many more pages. What they do cover are important sections of the dialog, including the introduction, the account and details of the making, the basis of motivation, and how disease can arise in the soul.
There are also essays commenting on and summarizing a small part of the great work of Thomas Johansen in his book Plato’s Natural Philosophy.
This work is not intended to stand alone, but to be read as a companion to the Timaeus. I hope that in some small way I can contribute to your enjoyment of Plato’s fascinating speculation on the nature of the physical world and human beings.
