Semi-retired General Herndon has foreseen the coming events. He must now take charge of the military response, using only the scattered remnants of America's once powerful defenses. Since the end of the Cold War, the United States has emerged as the one super power of the world. There might be terrorist threats, but no leader or nation could imagine conquering the U.S. A third world power could not even conceive of invading and defeating the mightiest nation in the world. Presidents have confessed their fears and anxieties over a possible terrorist biological attack. The Pentagon has published reports stating how vulnerable we are to forms of terrorist attacks with biological agents. The problem is that our leadership is blinded to anything but a small-scale terror attack. No one can conceive that we could be surprised, our population decimated and the survivors totally defeated.
