Night Roamers

Seven-thirty Friday morning, ten-year-old Mica stands at the front door of his grandmother’s house hoping to find an excuse to stay home instead of facing yet another school day.
Mica lives in an inner-city world ruled by bullies. The meanest bully is the one known as the King. For Mica, or any brainy kid who wants to avoid extinction, the rule is simple: be invisible.
Mica has always found ways of being invisible.
Except on this day.
With Mica’s name atop the King’s hit list, and with the bully in close pursuit, Mica runs for the only hiding place he knows he’ll be safe.
Only on this day, it turns out to be the worst possible place Mica could be.
Once in, Mica discovers there’s no way out.
And the worst part, he’s not alone.
