Geometry: A Complete Course (with Trigonometry) (VideoText Interactive, Module A: DVD Format)

This course is a comprehensive multimedia instructional program in six modules, covering a complete study of formal Plane Geometry (based on Euclidean Geometry), and including a significant treatment of Geometry. Students are first led through a detailed re- teaching of basic geometric concepts, including an introduction into logical thinking. They then work through the develpoment of fundamental terms, postulates, and theorems which explore the geometric realtionships between simple closed plane curves in two dimmensional space. Materials in the complete course include: video lessons, course notes, student work texts, solutions manuals, progress tests, and instructor's guides. This program is not the traditional "teachers at the blackboard with their backs to the students approach." It is inquiry based, and encourages the student to regularly pause the video lesson, engage in analysis, and discover the concept. The video lessons are designed to capture and hold the student's attention, through the use of animated, color- sequenced animation. As a result, becasue the student is more personally involved in concept development, understanding is deeper, retention is more pronounced, and concepts are transferred more easily to new problem situations.
