[Economics: A tool for Critically Understanding Society 9th Edition] is basically a one-semester text, although it may be appropriate for use in some full-year texts. It does not try to cover everything. We emphasize the fundamentals of economics and focus on relevant applications of those concepts. In our experience, to much information, too much qualification, and too much supplementary material can get in the way of a solid foundation in the essential and relatively simple concepts. Furthermore adequate examples from contemporary economic events are reported in the press every day to complement and enrich textbook economics. Our objective through each edition has been to retain simplicity while at the same time adequately covering the basic micro-and macroeconomic concepts.
